Arus balik di kawasan jalur selatan Jawa Barat mengalami peningkatan mulai Selasa petang. Akibatnya, terjadi kemacetan yang cukup panjang dijalur Gentong menuju arah Bandung hingga belasan kilometer. Iring-iringan kendaraan arus balik berlangsung mulai dari kawasan Citawigadung (Ciamis, Tasikmalaya-Ciawi, Garut menuju Bandung). Sejumlah Kendaraan pemudik berplat nomor luar kota mulai melintasi jalur selatan Jawa Barat tersebut menuju ke kota asalnya masing-masing.
Disepanjang jalur selatan Jawa Barat mulai dari Ciamis terjadi iring-iringan kendaraan menuju arah ke Bandung, yang diperkirakan kepadatan lalulintas akan bertambah hingga malam ini. Kondisi cuaca buruk dan hujan deras yang sering terjadi akhir-akhir ini menjadi faktor kendala yang dapat mempengaruhi kelancaran arus lalulintas pada arus balik lebaran. Diantara kendaraan milik para pemudik nampak mogok akibat kurangnya persiapan menghadapi arus balik yang berakibat antrean kendaraan dibelakangnya semakin panjang.
Sejak persiapan arus mudik dan arus balik para petugas kepolisian telah siaga disejumlah pos jaga pengamanan lalulintas untuk mengantisipasi kemacetan dibeberapa titik rawan kecelakaan, namun volume kendaraan yang melintasi jalur selatan Citawigadung rupanya lebih banyak dibandingkan jumlah petugas dilapangan. Hal ini diperlukan kesadaran pengedara untuk tetap mengutamakan keselamatan, persiapan stamina dan kesabaraan di perjalanan. D9
